The masks are made remotely from new cotton, are then steam ironed, and are sent to a central location where they are left unopened for two days. This removes the risk of contamination, in case of asymptomatic contamination by the Makers.

These cloth masks are made by women from a refugee background – present and past employees of The Textile Studio - a charity that provides jobs and training to refugee women. As well as the supporting the women to be leaders in their community this initiative is providing them with much needed income continuity at this difficult time.
